First Day Back

Term started yesterday! Normally we are really sad to see it arrive. We never want to go back work. It wasn't the same this term. We were all excited, Mum had so many interesting things we are going to do.

We started the day with some prayers and the gospel. It was Luka's turn to read!

Then we went into the study. Mum opened up her computer.

"I have found a cool looking maths site," she told us.

We rushed over, interested. Normally we use maths books!

Mum showed us the site. "Brainpop, doesn't that sound good?" she asked.

"Oh yes!" we all agreed.

"What does it mean?" River asked.

"They will teach you so much that your brain will pop," Mum joked.

"Let's see, what about this game?" she asked showing us a games called Coaster Creator.

In it we had to build a roller coaster that would not break or crash or anything like that! We had so much, but we didn't succeed.

We played two other games from Brainpop, they were called Carpenter's Cut (for everyone younger than me and Otis) and A Tangled Web (for me and Otis). In Carpenter's Cut you cut piece of wood (it was a bit easy for me and Otis). A Tangled Web was about getting saving a spiders family! You had to use angles.

After maths Mum read to us from a book called Hitler's Daughter. It was really exciting! Then Mum started another book called Refuge. It was also really fun! Both books are by Jackie French.

We had morning tea after that! I made milkshakes and we ate chocolate chip muffins that I made the day before.

"Who would like to learn about famous artists?" Mum asked.

"Me!!" We all shouted and rushed back to the computer.

A Beautiful World by Grandma Moses

She showed us another site she had found, Garden of Praise! It doesn't only teach art, but that's what we looked at.

"What looks good?" Mum asked.

"Grandma Moses!" River answered.

We all agreed and spent ages reading about her and her art.

After that we went to a site called Explore Learnning and did some science. After that we started a bit of a documentary about plants.

We took a break to make lunch and ate it over some more of the documentary.

We got the rest of the day off work because of it being first day! I hope the rest of the term is this fun.

P.S What was your first day like?

Colour Splash Fun

After Bethany posted some of her wonderful colour splash photos, I wanted to do some myself.

So, after getting permission, I went to Picmonkey with a cool picture and tried it out! It was so much fun. I really enjoyed it. This is what I came out with:

Only left animals coloured
Only left eyes, nose and mouth coloured

I will have to do some more! This was so much fun.

Louise, the Raven Girl

Ok! So what am I writing about now? Something interesting I hope:)

Right, so last post I told you about my whole family, well I never told you about my awesome cousin, Louise in detail.

She is a new blogger, total of two posts. She is a much better writer than me(she says she isn't though).

Her blog called The Raven Princess! I didn't even know what a raven LOOKS like before I visited her blog. She really loves ravens and other birds like that.

Louise gets on with everyone. She is that sort of person, she just says something nice and she has another friend! She has such a talent for it, I wish I was like that.

Well please visit her blog! I am sure she will visit yours back:)

Memories of Geronimo Stilton

When I was little I used to like reading Geronimo Stilton. I had a huge collection of them. I think I owned most of them. I could never get enough.

The Geronimo runs (or was it edits, I forget) a newspaper called the Rodents Gazette. He is a bit of a fraidy-cat (of fraidy-mouse). He never means to get himself into the scraps he does.

The other main characters are Benjamin Stilton, Trap Stilton and Thea Stilton. They are all very different.

Thea is a bit of a daredevil, riding motor bikes and doing all sorts of things. She was my favourite character. (I think there were some books made about her, but I never read any)

The books aren't very long, but they are funny! Geronimo makes up words like Fabumouse (and fraidy-mouse). The titles of the books are interesting too like The Lost Treasure of the Emerald Eye, I'm Too Fond of My Fur, All Because of a Cup of Tea.

Thinking about me makes to want to read them again, even though I am supposed to be too old for that sort of thing. (Supposed to). I must go and see if I can find any of them!

Images: None of them are mine

P.S please visit my other blog. I am having a poll!

I Will Get Better, I Promise

I think about my old posts, were they better than these ones? Hmmm, they got more comments. Maybe it is time to change my writing style, or what I write.

What made my other posts better? More in them? More detail? All of the above? That's most likely it!

So what to do about changing that? Well I could write it more like a story? That sounds good, doesn't it?

I this is my new year resolution(very late I know). I hope I can stick to it. Wish me luck!

Today's Gospel

Mark 2 : 13-17

When Jesus went out again beside the lake, a crowd came to Him, and He taught them. As He walked along, He saw a tax collector sitting in his office. This was Le vi, the son of Alpheus. Jesus said to him, “Follow Me!” And Levi got up and followed Him.

And it so happened that when Jesus was eating in Levi’s house, tax collectors and sinners sat with Him and His disciples; there were a lot of them, and they used to follow Jesus.

But Pharisees, men educated in the Law, when they saw Jesus eating with sinners and tax collectors, said to His disciples, “Why does your Master eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

Jesus heard them, and answered, “Healthy people do not need a doctor, but sick people do. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Brave is Amazing and I am Obsessed with gifs!

I promised myself no more Frozen, so what am I posting instead then? Well I had this brilliant idea, Brave!!!

We watched Brave a little while ago when I got it for my birthday. Everyone in my family agrees it is awesome.

Favourite character? hmmmm, hard to pick! I think is might be the triplets. I know there are three of them, but I bet they count as one! Other then them, the horse Angus.

To my surprise there was no real songs in the movie. None that the characters sing I mean. The was one song though, I will post it here:

It is called Touch the Sky. It comes from the start of the movie and really introduces Mirada! I rather like it. I never can stop saying over and over in my head, 'Colds are Calling'.

I liked the movie and if you haven't seen it, you should! That's all for now.

-Willow

P.S sorry, but I have a bit of an obsession with gifs! I know I have a lot of obsessions:p

Random One and Random Two

I have a bit of a Frozen theme going at the moment. I can't get it out of my head. Here are some pictures I found.

And to finish this off with...DOCTOR WHO!!! (Yes you heard, Doctor Who, Yes it fits with this theme, what, you don't think so)

Sorry about how random these two are (there I admit it.) I just wanted to share them. I will write more later.

Hey, Frozen Fans!

I don't have much time to write at the moment (I know I haven't for ages). Well I just want to post this:

Pride and Prejudice

How's your holidays been? What have you been doing?

I have been watching Pride and Prejudice with my mum. It is brilliant! I really like Mr Darcy. I have watched it before, but we both wanted to watch it again!

I wish I could be like Jane and think the best of everyone. She is like the perfect girl.

Elizabeth is also amazing. I rather like her, even though she doesn't play the piano perfectly in all movies!

Mary is a bit annoying. She is always pushing in and making out she is amazing, when she isn't. Sometimes I feel sorry for her though. She is never getting noticed when that is what she really wants. It isn't her fault she doesn't have many talents!

Kitty I think is just pulled along by Lydia. She doesn't really mean to be so stupid. She just doing what Lydia does.

Lydia is so flirty. She is my idea of a flirt. Always running after soldiers. I can understand how she got like that though. Her mother isn't the best woman on earth!

Well I have to go. See you later!

So Much To Chat About

Sorry I haven't written in a few days! I have been busy (and a bit lazy).

Well Happy New Year! I almost forgot. I hope everyone had a great day and enjoyed themselves immensely.

We had a wonderful day. We visited some friends the day before and watched the fireworks on TV! They were amazing.

On New Years day we had a lazy day at home. Dad took us to the swimming pool in the afternoon and we spent hours in the pool! I got to try out my new swim suit I got for Christmas:) Yay!

Anyone watched Frozen? We saw it in the cinema and it was amazing. I couldn't stop giggling. It was so funny! I think I liked the man from the big summer blowout best:) I couldn't believe he was really so big!

Well yesterday Harry and I sorted through our movie collection which is mainly made up of Disney movies and Doctor Who! I found Tangled Happily Ever After. We put it on and watched it!

Also I have found a Snow White Happily Ever After! Hope you enjoy watching it as well.

Ok so bye! Hopefully next post will be better and not made up of a lot of random things. Thanks for reading and watching.
