Chapter One//Monster Attacks and a Betrothal

Today I'm starting a novel! It's not going to be planned. I have no idea where this will go. I hope you enjoy:)

Marty heard Lou name being called, but she didn't bother to go see what Lou wanted. If it was important, he would come and find her.

Nan would have a fit if she found Marty being so lazy, but Nan wasn't there. She had left a few days ago to go see her brother who had gotten injured by one of the mysterious monsters.

The monsters had appeared about a month ago. They went around, killing and injuring whatever was in their way. All the experts were working on identifying what the monsters were and how get rid of them.

Their was only one problem, the experts had no idea what the monsters looked like or how it killed everyone.

The victims that survived all had amnesia and couldn't remember anything. They couldn't remember anything, not even who they were.

"Marty! MARTY! Princess Martha Anna!" Lou cried exasperated, bursting into her room. Marty looked up at her older brother.

"What's the matter?" Marty asked. "Couldn't you have knocked?" Then she noticed Lou's shocked and frightened face. She suddenly felt terrified. Lou was the heir to the throne, he was her older brother, he wasn't supposed to scared.

"What happened?" she whispered.

"It's father," Lou said, "he was attacked."

"By one of the-things?" Marty asked, she wasn't sure if she wanted to hear the answer.

Lou nodded. He was as pale as a ghost. Marty didn't expect she looked any better though.

"Where is he? Is he ok?" Marty cried, heading towards the door. She knew that he wouldn't be fine. No one got away from the monsters fine.

"He's in the infirmary. They won't let us in," Lou replied, following her out of the room and down the door.

Marty started to run. She didn't care if it was unprincessly. She had to get to her father. The monsters had taken her mother already, they couldn't take her father as well.

At the infirmary door, she got stopped.

"I'm sorry your highness," said the soldier who was standing guard there. "I can't let you in."

"You must!" Marty said. "I order you to open it."

"I'm sorry, you can't go in. It's for yours and your father's sake," the soldier replied. "I will tell you when you're allowed in," he said sympathetically.

Marty didn't want his sympathy. It somehow made everything worse. She turned around and bumped into Lou.

"It's ok," Lou said and led her away, back over to her room.

"Where was he going? Where was he attacked?" Marty asked. She hadn't even known King Rupert was going out that day.

"He was going to visit King Simon," Lou said, looking rather guilty.

"But he lives across the seas. He would have been gone for weeks!" Marty looked shocked. "Why didn't he tell me he was going?"

"He didn't want to upset you," Lou replied, looking more than a little bit awkward.

"About what? He has upset me now!" Marty yelled, she knew she was overreacting, but she couldn't help it. This was far too much!

"Well," Lou went red.

"Why was he visiting King Simon?" Marty demanded. She knew he was hiding something from her.

Lou sat down beside her. "You're not going to like it," he told her. Taking a deep breath he explained, "Father was going to discuss the matter your betrothal."

"My WHAT?" Marty screamed. "Since when was I betrothed? Why didn't anyone ever talk to me about this?"

"Father has been discussing it with King Simon for a while ago. He didn't want to upset you, I don't expect her thought the news would be broken to you like this," Lou replied. He was studying his feet.

"Have you known all this time?" Marty asked.

Lou nodded, not meeting his sister's angry eyes.

"Who?" Marty said.

"Prince Theo, King Simon's son," Lou told her.

"What? That stupid, conceited boy?" Marty cried. They had met Prince Theo a few years ago when they went to visit King Simon's kingdom. She has taken an immediate dislike to him.

"Yes, but it's been four years. He could be completely different now. Don't judge him on that," Lou warned her.

"I won't marry him!" Marty yelled, jumping to her feet. "You can't make me!"

"I'm afraid you must," Lou said quietly. "It's already being arranged. If you pull out we will have all out war!"

"You can't force me into this," Marty said.

"You will stop attacking like a spoilt brat!" Lou told her, holding onto her shoulders. "You will marry him! There's no way out of this. You have no choice," he shook her.

Marty wriggled out of her brother's grasp and ran out of her room before Lou could say anything.

Results!

Hi guys! I have the results of the writing contest. Thank you everyone who entered! The winner is.....Eve from Eve of Womanhood:)

Cotton candy!

Friendship is like cotton candy.
It may be sweet,
but after a while,
it dissolves and disappears.
People grow apart,
they change so quickly.
The sweet sugary taste doesn't last forever.
The person you could once trust with every little secret,
is now the one who tells everything about you.
The one you laugh with,
makes you sad in the end.
Friendship is like cotton candy.
Yes, it is sweet,
but everything has an ending.
Everything has to dissolve sometime.
Sometimes but only sometimes,
friendship can be something more than just cotton candy.
Sadly,
I haven't experienced a friendship like that yet.

.......

I found this really beautiful! Thank you so much for entering Eve:)

Please email at hannahmarym@outlook.com for your prize!

The Lifesaver

After deciding to write everyday on my blog, I only found one problem. You see I thought it might be a good idea to write my posts ahead of time so if I didn't end up having time to write the post I would have one to go.

Well that was ok. I had no problem writing the posts. But the problem came when I had to publish the posts.

The first one was fine. I just hit publish and walked off, but the next day I very nearly forgot to publish the post. I had thought I had done everything I had to.

I never wanted to forget to publish a post again and so I found the best lifesaver! It's the schedule button. I can't believe I never saw it before.

Now I schedule my posts and they're always on time! What could be better?

Thank Azia for telling me about schedule!

Chapter Two//The Decision

As Joe entered the house she saw her Aunt May shaking her head.

"I told Jake that it was a bad idea to come here at this time of year," she told Uncle Bruce. "It was just asking for trouble." She looked up and saw Joe.

Joe turned away. She felt worse than ever. Her aunt was right. They shouldn't have come, they should have stayed home.

Joe headed up the stairs towards her bedroom.

"Joe, wait!" her mum called, but Joe didn't stop. She broke into a trot. Kate, her mum, sighed and let her go.

...

In her room, Joe pulled out the locket she had found one day under the hedge at home. She had been very young when she had found it.

Kate had told her it was from the fairies. Even though Joe hadn't ever told anyone, she still believed in fairies.

The locket had the words:

Wish and you will get. Look and you will find. Dream and you will go far. Follow your heart!

Joe loved the words. She believed they held a secret power that she just had to find.

"Joe!" Kate called from outside Joe's door.

Joe hurriedly shoved the locket back into her drawer and locked it. She swung off the bed and opened the door.

"It's dinner time," Kate told her daughter.

Joe followed her mother downstairs.

...

The doctor looked grave. "It's not good," he told Kate. "He has damaged his spine," the doctor said some other things that Joe didn't hear. He has damaged his spine kept floating around her head.

By the time Joe and her mother left the hospital, Joe had made up her mind. She knew just what she was going to do.

She didn't talk about it to her mother. She knew her mother would never let her do it, but she had understood enough of what the doctor had said to know that her father could die.

Kate tried to make things seem better, but Joe knew her mother better than to be fooled by what she said.

...

As soon as Joe got home she race up to her bedroom. She pulled out her locket, some jumpers, pants and phone. She put them all into a bag and hid the bag in her wardrobe. She then pulled out some note paper.

She knew what she wanted to say, but for some reason she couldn't get it down onto the paper. She sighed and put down the pen. She would write the note later.

Kate knocked on the door. "You OK?" she asked popping her head around the door. She was worried. Joe had hardly said anything, she had just gone straight to her room.

"Fine," Joe said, sitting down on the screwed up pieces of note paper.

Kate decided that Joe wanted to be left alone and she closed the door and went back downstairs.

...

That night when everyone was asleep, Joe hopped out of bed and grabbed her phone. She dialled the number of a boy she had met a few days ago.

"Hello?"

"Hi Alf, it's Joe," Joe said.

"What's up?" Alf asked. He was a strange boy, but even for him this was a weird hour to be ringing at.

"I think I need you to repay that good deed I did," Joe told him. When she had first arrived here she had found Alf. He had been sitting by the river looking angry. His step-dad had found out about him owning a motor bike and ordered him to get rid of it.

Joe had taken a liking to Alf at once and she offered to hide the motor bike in the garden of the house she was staying in.

"What do you need me to do?" Alf asked Joe.

"I need you to take me somewhere!"

I hope you guys liked this. My last chapter got good feedback and so I hope you like this lot!

Deciding to be an Every Day Blogger

I have found out that choosing to be an 'every day blogger' is harder than you would think. I have been wanting to do this for a while, but I didn't really do much about it until now.

I have been reading quite a few new blogs recently and I have seen so many everyday bloggers. They're blogs are so awesome and well kept up to date. In fact I have found that the everyday bloggers are the ones who have the best content on their blogs. (Though I do follow a lot of good other blogs which have create content).

The past few days I have been getting really serious about blogging everyday. I have a few reasons why I should do it and a few why I shouldn't do it.

My main reasons I want to do it is because I enjoy blogging so much and I like writing and making friends. But there are a few things holding me back. I have no idea if I will have the time to put in the effort or if I will be able to think up enough things to write about.

Finally I made up my mind. I decided it would be worth the effort to become an everyday blogger. I think that if I work hard I really can keep this blog going everyday.

So here I am, heading out into a huge challenge! Wish me luck:)

Chapter One//The Guilt

Joe stared at the camera in her hand. She wanted to throw it away, far away, but something held her back.

She didn't know what it was. She was angry with the camera, with herself, with her dreams. If it wasn't for them everything would be ok.

Sighing, she put her camera down. She put her head in her hands and wept. She wept for ages, until she had no more tears.

It was all her fault. If only she hadn't asked to go photography challenge. Her father wouldn't have gotten hurt, he would be in hospital.

Joe felt a hand on her arm. She looked up and saw her mother.

"It's all my fault," Joe wailed. She buried her face in her mother's shoulder. Her whole body shook, but she couldn't stop the tears.

"It's ok," her mother soothed. "It's ok. Nothing's your fault. Everything will be fine, I promise!"

Joe looked at her mother. "It is my fault! If I hadn't made you and Dad take me here Dad wouldn't be in hospital."

"It's not your fault. It's no one's fault. How could you have known this would happen?" Joe's mother asked, looking her daughter in the eye.

It didn't make Joe feel any better though. She felt it was all her doing. That everything would be ok if they hadn't come here.

Joe's mother passed her a tissue. "Come on, Uncle Bruce and Aunt May have to come to see how things are."

Joe got to her feet. She sighed and walked back down the cliff to the house where they were staying.

I hope you liked that! If you would like me to post some more of this story, please comment.

Writing Contest Entry

Here is my entry for Eve's writing contest! Sorry it's nothing special, but I am not very good at this sort of thing:( I will have to practise!

The girl looks out the window.
She sighs and turns away
"No one will ever come."
She has been in the tower for what seems like forever
"When will my prince come?"
For ages she waits.
She gives up all hope.
Then suddenly, out of the blue someone comes.
He climbs up the tower.
She turns and sees him.
"You have come at last!"
The prince rescues the girl and takes her away.
In the prince's castle, on a hill, they live happily ever after!

I don't know what kind of writing you would call this. It's just something I made up.  I hope you liked it!

I Will Get Better, I Promise

I think about my old posts, were they better than these ones? Hmmm, they got more comments. Maybe it is time to change my writing style, or what I write.

What made my other posts better? More in them? More detail? All of the above? That's most likely it!

So what to do about changing that? Well I could write it more like a story? That sounds good, doesn't it?

I this is my new year resolution(very late I know). I hope I can stick to it. Wish me luck!

My Friend Elinor

My friend Elinor has just made herself a blog. It is called, The Sensible Dashwood. I think it will be wonderful. Good luck on writing Elinor.

Elinor and her two sisters, Marianne and Margret, have been interested in Jane Austen since they were small. They used to dress up and be Elinor Dashwood and her sisters. That is what inspired them to be the Dashwood sisters.

They still have both parents and they aren't as old as the real Dashwoods. No way, but they pretend. Luckily for us Marianne isn't so silly as the real Marianne in the books.

I met Elinor at a picnic some time ago and we have been fast friends ever since. This should be a good way to keep in contact. I am so looking forward to it.

Good luck Elinor, come on Marianne, Margret, make yourselves a blog each!

Tobit 2:9-14

I got a comment saying, "My children also like the story of Tobit as well. We live in Denmark, and in the Dainsh Bible Tobit is not taking a bath, only washing - what a shame.". I got thinking that some people might be interested in the story of Tobit and the bath and so I am posting it...

I, Tobit, took a bath; then I went into the courtyard and lay down by the courtyard wall. Since it was hot I left my face uncovered. I did not know that there were sparrows in the wall above my head; their hot droppings fell into my eyes. White spots then formed, which I was obliged to have treated by the doctors. But the more ointments they tried me with, the more the spots blinded me, and in the end I became blind altogether. I remained without sight four years; all my brothers were distressed; and Ahikar provided for my upkeep for two years, till he left for Elymais.
My wife Anna then undertook woman’s work; she would spin wool and take cloth to weave; she used to deliver whatever had been ordered from her and then receive payment. Now on March the seventh she finished a piece of work and delivered it to her customers. They paid her all that was due, and into the bargain presented her with a kid for a meal. When the kid came into my house, it began to bleat. I called my wife and said, “Where does this creature come from? Suppose it has been stolen! Quick, let the owners have it back; we have no right to eat stolen goods.” She said, “No, it was a present given me over and above my wages.” I did not believe her, and told her to give it back to the owners (I blushed at this in her presence). Then she answered, “What about your own alms? What about your own good works? Everyone knows what return you had for them.”
That is TOBIT 2:9-14
I hope you enjoyed that!

Hello!

Jane Austen (one of my favourite authors)

Hello!

My name is Willow. I am twelve years old and the oldest in my family.

I like music and art, but what I really like doing is reading and writing. I love mythology and so when I found about the Kane Chronicles  and the Percy Jackson series. I was delighted. Rick Riordan is now one of my favourite authors.

I like all the Jane Austen movies. They are so cool! I have watched quite a few. Though if you ask me some of the main characters are a bit floppy. I also like Disney movies like Tangled and Brave they are awesome.

I love holy pictures and stories. My favourite line from the bible is: 'I, Tobit, had a bath'. It is just not the thing you think you would hear from the bible, but you do.

In my family I have three brothers named Otis, Mack and Luka. I also have one five year old sister named River which is really cute.

My wish is life is to be a famous author like J.R.R Tolkien or C.S Lewis, but I don't think it very likely. I like to write about adventures and mysteries with a bit of fantasy in it.

Well I would just like to finish this post with a big thank you for reading this and please come back soon and follow!
